Toyota claims that manufacturing at its Tianjin joint venture resumed on January 22.

Toyota (7203.T) stated Saturday that activities at its joint venture complex in Tianjin, eastern China, restarted after measures to combat the spread of COVID-19 forced it to close the plant, according to a Toyota spokesperson.

The site, which Toyota co-owns with Chinese automaker FAW Group, was locked down on January 10 for 11 days, according to a Reuters spokeswoman in Beijing. Due to the impact on suppliers of mandatory COVID-19 testing of city residents, the plant was shut down.
